Sandstone is a sedimentary rock that composes of mainly sand sized minerals or rock fragments, even some other organic materials.
You will find that most sandstone does in fact compose of quartz and or feldspar which are both silicates, some of the most resistant minerals to the likes of weathering found on earth’s surface, making ideal for the use of driveways.
Indian Sandstone can come in array of colours this is due to impurities that can be found within the sandstone, the most common colours are tan, brown, yellow, red, grey, pink, white and even black.
This again is an attraction for the use of driveways not only something that will last, but also comes naturally in a number of colours.
Sandstone is formed in two distinctive stages, the first is when layers of sand accumulate with water, normally a stream or lake, or from air such as in the dessert, this sand then becomes sandstone once it becomes compounded with pressure from overlaying debris.
Indian flagstone has been used for driveways for a long time, but has been used even longer for domestic use since prehistoric use.
India as country is rich in sandstone and is found in many of its states with around 90% of the deposits found in Rajasthan. This making it a leader in countries exporting sandstone, with its sandstone being ideal for both external and interior use.
Some of the colours of the sandstone its self-include Tint Mint, Modak, Agra Red, Rainbow, Buff Brown, Jodhpur Pink and Jaisalmer Yellow.
