Lofthouse Colliery Disaster Memorial
Here at Build a drive we recently installed a new resin walkway around the Lofthouse Colliery Disaster Memorial, finished with a gravel garden area with plants.
Lofthouse is in Leeds however the colliery was in Lofthouse Gate and is part of the city of Wakefield. The disaster took place in 1973 in which seven miner workers died due to flooding. One of the worst mining catastrophes in British records.
The memorial itself is maintained by a local trust, and is located in Wrenthorpe above the point the miners were trapped.
Resin Driveway & Gravel Area
As you can see from the images we excavated and installed a new resin walkway, making sure we worked to manufactures specifications, we then completed the memorial with a gravel area to the rear of the memorial so people can enjoy the space around the memorial this is then finished with plants and shrubs, which we believe really complements the memorial.
The Lofthouse Colliery Disaster Trust were really pleased with our work and service, if you would like a free instant online valuation then please get in touch or use our free calculator here.
